To
receive a diploma from Vista Real
Charter High School, students will need to complete
the the following requirements:
1. Students under the age of 18 are required to successfully
complete 230 credits for graduation. Students 18 years of
age and older are required to successfully complete 210 credits
for graduation.
2.
Included in the requirement above are the CORE CURRICULUM
classes:
Four courses in English (40 credits)
Three courses in Math, including Algebra I (30 credits)
Three courses in science, including 10 credits of Health
(30 credits)
Three courses in social studies, including world history,
United States history, American government and economics (30
credits)
One course in visual arts or performing arts or foreign
language or American sign language (10 credits)
Two courses in physical education, unless the student
has been exempted pursuant to Education Code 51241 (20 credits)

A student shall complete a minimum of 10 credits while enrolled
at Vista Real Charter High School in order to be eligible
to graduate from Vista Real. Even if a student has completed
230 credits (or 210) and has met or not met the CORE CURRICULUM
requirement he/she must still complete the 10 credit minimum
requirement.
4.
Effective January, 2006, all students will be required to
successfully complete the California High School Exit Exam
(CHSEE). Supplemental instruction toward passing the exit
exam shall be available.
5.
Any student graduating after December 31, 2004, shall be required
to successfully complete the Vista Real Charter High School
Senior Portfolio.
6.
Any student who registers in Vista Real after January, 2004,
and needs 40 credits or less to graduate shall successfully
complete the Senior Portfolio. This 10 credit class may be
included in the minimum of 10 credits required for all graduates.
7.
All graduates of Vista Real, after completing all CORE CURRICULUM,
electives and other requirements, shall complete a graduation
exit assessment using the Star Reader and Star Math system
used by VRCHS at enrollment and at the beginning of each semester.
